WE HAVE BIG NEWS COMING FOR 2022 - phase II Announcement is now posted
STAY IN YOUR VEHICLE DO NOT WALK UP TO THE UNIT
Check in begins at 8:15 AM
Staff members will direct the flow of traffic up to the unit where they will check you in and unload your pet.
Be respectful of others - not being prepared results in delays for everyone. Our staff works very diligently to check in as quickly as possible.
We do not check in prior to 8:15 AM.
In order for us to have your pets ready in the afternoon, we must start on time. If you are late, your pet may be declined. We cannot accept any animals once the door is closed.
Staff members begin behavioral assessments during the check-in process. Our staff is well trained in recognizing signs of true aggression. Your pet may be well behaved at home; however, in a new environment, it can be stressful and your pet may react differently. If at any time staff members determine that it is not safe for them to handle your pet, they will decline the animal. Our staff's decision is for their safety and the decision is final.
Our discharge time is determined that morning. It is based on that particular day's schedule and staff evaluation on arrival. Recovery time is important for the animals! Average pick up time is 4:00, but is not a guarantee. You will be given the exact time to pick up your pet when you check in.

We will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
For dogs: Check the incision site so you will know how it looks at discharge and can recognize any changes. If your pet has been noted to lick the site, you will be advised to purchase an E-collar or cone of shame to prevent incisional complications. Our staff will answer any questions you have and provide additional pain medication if you purchased extras at check in.
For Cats: Cats are discharged in their carriers for safety reasons. Please make sure you check the incision site once at home.
Do not put anything on the incision site. There are no outward sutures. They are all internal. We apply skin adhesive as a barrier for contamination. DO NOT APPLY ADDITIONAL ADHESIVE IF YOU DETECT A PROBLEM.
EMERGENCIES:
Our veterinarian is available for emergencies during our normal business hours. After hours emergency locations and numbers are listed on the discharge instructions provided at the time of your visit. SAFE is not responsible for emergency fees!
We are thrilled that you have chosen S.A.F.E. for your pet's spay/neuter. Your decision is the best gift you can give your pet for a healthy lifespan. And, you have prevented many unwanted litters of puppies and kittens from entering our shelters.
