ARRIVAL INSTRUCTIONS

8:15 AM for all animals.

PLEASE READ & FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS WE SEND TO YOU

Refer to the Dates & Locations section for what to bring for the appointment.  This information will also be included in your appointment reminder text.

We do not check in prior to 8:15 AM.

In order for us to have your pets ready in the afternoon, we must start on time.   If you are late, your pet will be declined.

You will be given a discharge instruction sheet with the pick up time noted on it.  Please read it before you pick up your pet.  We will be  happy to answer any questions when you pick up.

DISCHARGE INSTRUCTIONS

The discharge time changes each day and is based on that day's schedule.

Please note there is a $35 late fee if you are more than 10 minutes late picking your pet up.  This fee is not optional as our costs have increased by having to wait on you.   Make sure you inform anyone else picking up your pet as they will be expected to pay if they are late.

We will take your payment when you pick your pet up.

Make sure you read the discharge instructions given to you at check in so we can answer any questions you may have.

For dogs:  You will be shown the incision site so you will know how it looks at discharge and can recognize any changes.   If your pet has been noted to lick the site, you will be advised to purchase an E-collar or cone of shame to prevent incisional complications.  Our staff will answer any questions you have and provide additional pain medication if you purchased extras at check in.

For Cats:  Cats are discharged in their carriers for safety reasons.  Please make sure you check the site once at home.

Do not put anything on the incision site.  There are no outward sutures.  They are all internal.   We apply skin adhesive as a barrier for contamination.   DO NOT APPLY ADDITIONAL ADHESIVE IF YOU DETECT A PROBLEM.   CALL US!

THANK YOU

We are thrilled that you have chosen S.A.F.E. for your pet's spay/neuter.   Your decision is the best gift you can give your pet for a healthy lifespan.   And, you have prevented many unwanted litters of puppies and kittens from entering our shelters.
